Harvest Trust holidays are simple, ‘no pressure’ holidays which are specially formulated to help small groups of withdrawn children build self-confidence.

We run one holiday at a time so each school group has the Holiday Centre all to themselves for the week. Set in open countryside, the Centre has acres of it’s own woodland, streams and play fields. We take the children to some of the beautiful beaches of Cardigan Bay where they can search through rock pools, explore caves and paddle in the sea. They can discover the fun of flying kites, building castles and getting sand in their sandwiches! They go for walks to spot seals and dolphins, or explore a ruined castle on a hilltop. There's a day at the Farm Park to feed the animals and milk a goat. And of course, there's a visit to a few gift shops on the last day to spend their pocket money.

Harvest Trust holidays are built on very simple principles. We believe that children are happiest with the security which comes from clear and consistant boundaries, a tidy and calm environment, daily routines and caring adults who behave like adults.

Throughout the week, children are never pressurised into any activity, whether it be bottle feeding a goat, paddling in the sea or even standing under a waterfall! This lack of pressure is the key to the success of our work with withdrawn children.

Everything we do is calculated to provide a relaxed and secure atmosphere in natural surroundings - a haven of peace and tranquility where the children have the time and space to find their own confidence.
